Purveyor of Fine Yarns - NEW in 2022

Purveyor of Fine Yarns specializes in producing single breed yarns. Spinners learn early the qualities of a fleece reflect the breed of sheep. Our goal is to give knitters the opportunity to experience the distinct qualities of different sheep breeds, being able to source yarn that is most appropriate to the project.  Fibershed is important to us. We source our wool from small farms, primarily in Wisconsin and Iowa. We clean and skirt fleeces and take the clean wool to be spun into yarn at woolen mills in the Midwest. Currently we offer yarns from the following breeds: Cormo, Clun Forest, Corriedale (in white, brown, gray and a marl), CVM, East Friesian, and Polypay. We are also offering a beautiful pin drafted sliver of BFL/Teeswater Cross.
At NYSWF we will be introducing a new Marl yarn of Romney, a Cheviot sock yarn and Romeldale yarn in three distinct colors. Beyond the naked state of the yarn, you will find deep semi-solid colors, and the subtle color of botanical dyes.
